The Kerrville Public School Foundation is sponsoring and facilitating the first annual “Teacher of the Year” program. This program is designed to recognize exceptional classroom teaching within the Kerrville Independent School District. Two “Teacher of the Year” awards will be given; one to a deserving classroom teacher at the preschool through grade 5 level and the other to a deserving classroom teacher at the grade 6 through grade 12 level. A monetary award of $2500 will be given to each recipient. Twenty-one teachers have been nominated for the 2013 “Teacher of the Year” awards: 12 nominees from the elementary category and 9 from the secondary category. The announcement of the Elementary Teacher of the Year and the Secondary Teacher of the Year will be made on June 3 at the annual “End of Year” faculty and staff meeting to be held at the Cailloux Theatre.
